Emmaus House Foundation Mission Statement

The Emmaus House Foundation seeks to establish residences that are innovative alternatives for the well elderly to live together in a family atmosphere. Within the context of this family atmosphere, the agency seeks to create a supportive environment that combats loneliness and fear, which oftentimes accompanies old age. Such an environment has the potential for each resident's continued growth in independence while fostering the inter-dependence of mutual responsibility.

Each individual living in a residence is provided with nutritious meals, social and recreational services, counseling and an environment that emphasizes wellness and harmony.

We believe that this alternative of shared-housing provides seniors with the option to remain living in the community with established and familiar support systems.

We are challenged to replicate Harvest Houses in abundance through the creation of a series of partnerships between Harvest Houses and local entities.
