When did Harvest Houses open their doors?

		1978 to 1985 were years of untiring efforts to make the dream a reality; searching for a site, raising funds, overcoming antiquated zoning laws that led us to the halls of the Supreme Court. Finally, the decision rendered in our favor provided the long awaited permit to open the doors. Thus, in 1985 the first family shared-housing model for elderly on Long Island was created.

		Harvest House opened its doors in Syosset, NY in 1985. More years of hard work and the dream began to grow. In 1990, Harvest Grove opened in Lake Grove, NY. Then, in 1998, Harvest Park opened its doors in Floral Park, NY.

		The dream doesn't end there. We hope to plant seeds in many communities and grow the dream of Harvest Houses.
