Emmaus House Foundation Mission Statement

The Emmaus House Foundation seeks to establish residences that are
innovative alternatives for the well-elderly to live together in a family
atmosphere. Within the context of this family atmosphere, the agency seeks
to create a supportive environment that combats loneliness and fear which
oftentimes accompanies old age. Such an environment has the potential for
each resident's continued growth in independence while fostering the
inter-dependence of mutual responsibility.
Each individual living in a residence is provided with nutritional meals,
social and recreational services, counseling and an environment that
emphasizes wellness and harmony.
We believe that this alternative of shared-housing provides seniors with
the option to remain living in the community with established and familiar
support systems.
